The SXSW audience award-winning film 68 Kill (review) has been picked up by IFC Midnight, who got the North American rights to the film, according to Deadline. The plan is to bring the film to theaters sometime in August.

Having seen the movie, I can assure you that it’s an absolute blast! It’s funny, violent, chaotic, and 100% out of its mind, which makes for one helluva ride!

Matthew Gray Gubler, Annalynne McCord, Alisha Boe, Sheila Vand, Sam Eidson, Lucy Faust, Eric Podner, Peter James, Hallie Grace Bradley, and James Moses Black star in the flick, which is based upon a novel by Bryan Smith and directed by Trent Haaga.

Synopsis:
Scraping by flushing septic systems is not his vision of a perfect life, but Chip is a simple guy and he’s got a great girlfriend in Liza. Sure, she supplements their income with a sugar daddy, but every relationship has its own complexities. When she suggests that they relieve her sleazy benefactor of a stack of cash, Chip begins to see a side of her he never knew existed… or never wanted to admit. Now he’s got a gun in his hand, a girl in his trunk, and less than 24 hours to figure his way out of this mess.
