DVD and Blu-ray Releases: March 14, 2017
Welcome back, folks. We’ve got a bunch of titles on our list this week. I do hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you live in the northeast, you may be waiting an extra day or two to pick up your titles this week due to the impending “wrath of the unholy” snowstorm. Hopefully those on the west coast won’t drop too many spoilers on you.
First, our discrepancies. Kill Game already had a release date of January 6th, but has popped up again on my radar for this week. If you weren’t able to locate it before, maybe you can grab a copy now. Additionally, Necrophiliac: The Lustful Dead may be unavailable, so leave a comment if you find a copy.
There are a fair amount of classics coming our way. Reaching back as far as 1959 with The Man Who Could Cheat Death and as recently as 1984’s Firestarter, we’ve got you covered. Also coming our way from yesteryear as The Skull, Drive In Massacre and 1977’s Demon Seed. There’s also the Faces Of Horror collection as well.
Syfy fans will be psyched to purchase either the third season of “Z Nation.” Additionally, seasons one through three will also be available in a collection this week.
Check out the rest of the list below and as always, pleasant viewing, especially if you’re in the northeast where it looks like cabin fever might be the norm for the next couple of days.

In “one of her finest, most vulnerable performances” (Danny Peary, Guide for the Film Fanatic), Julie Christie plays Susan in this taut techno-thriller based on the Dean Koontz novel. Packed with suspense, surprise and special effects, Demon Seed follows Susan’s desperate attempts to outmaneuver and outthink her captor. Then Susan learns what Proteus wants: its own child, conceived in her womb and destined for domination.
Drive-In Massacre (1976)

It was one of the few true slasher movies to pre-date Halloween and friday the 13th, and remains the closest you’ll ever come to an actual seedy 70s drive-in experience: It’s a hot summer night in Southern California and the local passion pit is packed with patrons. But when a sword-wielding psycho begins carving up customers, it’ll unspool a grubby cavalcade of creepy carnies, peeping perverts, graphic decapitations and an ending you have to see/hear to believe. John F. Goff (The Fog), Bruce Kimball (Love Camp 7) and co-writer George Buck Flower (Back To The Future) star in this nasty slab of ’70s sleaze directed by film & episodic television veteran Stu Segall (Insatiable), now packed with all-new Special Features and restored from the original camera negative recently discovered in the ruins of the Sky View Drive-In near Oxnard!
