Anthony Hopkins to Portray Alfred Hitchcock in The Making of Psycho?

So when the news broke earlier that the director of Anvil! The Story of Anvil, Sacha Gervasi, was in talks to handle a big screen adaptation of Stephen Rebello’s book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, the wondering began instantaneously — who could possibly play Sir Alfred?
According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog Anthony Hopkins may just turn out to be the man who plays him.
The book, published in 1998, tracks how Hitchcock, at the height of his game as a director, decided to make a “lowly” horror movie. No studio wanted to touch it initially so Hitchcock scrounged for financing by himself. The movie, of course, became one of his biggest hits and one of the most influential of all time.
Nothing is solid yet as both Hopkins and Gervasi are still negotiating, but stay tuned!
