At the end of last week, we posted that the Piranha franchise would be coming back via a new Japanese entry titled Piranha JPN: Summer of the Piranha. Produced by Hisako Tsukuba (who worked on every entry under the name Chako van Leeuwen), the film will be the first new entry since 2012’s Piranha 3DD, which was directed by John Gulager.

In updated news, we have heard that none other than Roger Corman will be attached as executive producer and is said to be overseeing the entire production! Corman was the producer and director of countless B-horror films for nearly over six decades, including such titles as The Undead, Attack of the Crab Monsters, The Masque of Red Death, Queen of Blood, The Haunted Palace, and countless other titles. From what we’ve heard, fans shouldn’t worry about the film lacking that magical Corman feel!
