Trailer Checks In From 47 Meters Down
In the Deep, formerly 47 Meters Down, was scheduled to come out on August 2, 2016. via the Weinsteins and Anchor Bay. Then, just days before release, we told you that Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios had acquired North American rights to the Mandy Moore shark thriller from the Weinsteins with plans to distribute it on 2,500-plus screens using the original title through its recently purchased theatrical distribution company, Freestyle Releasing, in 2017.
Okay, now that we’re all caught up with our history lesson… how about a new trailer for you? A U.S. release date is still pending.
Directed by Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door), the underwater thriller stars Mandy Moore (“This Is Us,” A Walk to Remember), Claire Holt (“The Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals”), Yani Gellman (“Pretty Little Liars,” “The Young and The Restless”), and Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, The Dark Knight Rises).
Synopsis:
Two sisters (Moore and Holt) become trapped at the bottom of the ocean when a diving expedition to observe sharks goes horribly wrong. When the cable attaching their observation cage to the boat breaks and the cage sinks to the bottom of the ocean, the sisters must figure out a way to get back to safety battling injuries, lack of oxygen, and worst of all, bloodthirsty Great White sharks.
