Jennifer Lynch Offers Update on Hisss and It’s Not Good
We’ve done dozens of stories concerning Jennifer Lynch’s film Hisss. We’ve seen multiple stills. Stunning trailers. Ran interviews. You name it. The only thing missing has been the film itself.
Lynch offered the following disheartening update recently as to what exactly is happening with the movie:
“Hisss was taken away from me in the edit. I have no idea what the film looks like. I came close to a director’s cut, which Mallika, Venus and producers (Govind Menon and Vikram Singh) referred to as ‘European, languid and sensual’, all the things I thought were compliments. Apparently, that did not make them happy. I have no idea what is out there. Good or bad, I cannot take credit for it. Aside from shots and performances that I pray have not been butchered… They took the songs out; they wanted more horror… My name is all over it (the film). I can do nothing. But I want to come back [to India].”
As of press time there’s still no word pertaining to when we’ll see the flick. All we can do is brace ourselves and hope for the best. More soon.
Hisss follows a ruthless American who, fascinated by the ancient folklore of the Nagin, travels to India to find out the truth. In the jungles of India he captures the mate of the Nagin for the magical powers of its Nagmani, a mythical gem embedded in its hood. The Nagin transforms into a femme fatale and comes to the modern world to track down her lover. She wreaks revenge on those who stand in the way of their reunion and also on her mate’s captors. Her desperate search and subsequent quest for revenge results in a breakneck chase with a trail of bodies and narrow escapes.
