Kim Coates (“Sons of Anarchy”) stars as the titular character in the explosive thriller OFFICER DOWNE, available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on February 28 from Magnolia Home Entertainment under the Magnet Label. M. Shawn Crahan (Clown from Slipknot) makes his directorial debut on this “bloody, extreme action opus” (Coming Soon) adaptation of the famed 2010 graphic novel by Joe Casey and Chris Burnham.
Officer Downe is not afraid of the consequences or for his safety when he single-handedly takes on Los Angeles’ most hardened criminals including gun running nuns, Fortune 500 crime bosses, and drug dealers. When rookie cop Gable (Tyler Ross, V/H/S/2) hits the streets with Downe, he soon discovers that there is more to the seemingly indestructible super-cop than meets the eye. Thanks to the power of dark science technology, Downe can be resurrected and returned to active duty after every deadly fight.
OFFICER DOWNE will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on February 28 at leading brick-and-mortar and online retailers for $29.98 and $26.98, respectively. The action-packed thriller will also be available on major Digital HD retailers including iTunes, Google Play, FandangoNOW, and more on February 28. Special features of the release include a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of OFFICER DOWNE with the cast and crew as well as an extended interview with Kim Coates.
Directed by M. Shawn Crahan, OFFICER DOWNE was written by Joe Casey and produced by Mark Neveldine, Skip Williamson, Cole Payne, and Casey. Executive producers were Cory Brennan and Glenn D. Feig.
Synopsis:
Adapted from the 2010 graphic novel by Joe Casey and Chris Burnham, OFFICER DOWNE concocts a hyper-real Los Angeles for the story of a savage L.A. policeman who is repeatedly resurrected and returned to active duty via dark science technology. When a rookie officer named Gable (Tyler Ross, V/H/S/2) is recruited as backup, he discovers there’s much more to the titular super-cop (Kim Coates, “Sons of Anarchy”) than a mindless law enforcement drone warring against a twisted rouges gallery of over-the-top super-villains.
