Patrick Lussier Updates Us on the Fate of Halloween 3D
We announced way back in September of 2009 that the Weinsteins had picked Patrick Lussier to direct the third chapter in the Halloween universe created by Rob Zombie, called tentatively, Halloween 3D. He would have been working from a script from long-time collaborator Todd Farmer, and the movie was to have been in theatres last August. Then financial woes for the studio reared their ugly head and things went silent.
So what is that status of the project? Lussier offered an update during his latest interview with MovieFone.
“You’d really have to ask Dimension Films and Bob Weinstein,” he tells the site. “We were very excited about the script we wrote. Malek Akkad was very excited about the script we wrote. We loved Malek and we’d love to make the movie with him, but that’s up to the grown-ups who are above our pay grade, so who knows. I am frequently surprised by whatever happens next.”
Let’s keep the faith, shall we? I mean we are getting more Hellraiser and Children of the Corn sequels, right? Nobody even wanted them!
