How appropriate is it that the website for Darren Bousman’s next shocker, 11 11 11, opens its doors today, November 11? Get ready for something coming from the other side!
“On 11-11-11 a gateway will open and something from another world will pass into ours.” – so reads the log line from the film that was being sold by Epic Pictures Group at this year’s AFM.
So what is the 11:11 phenomenon? It’s all centered on the emergence of that number in people’s lives that alerts them to angels or spirit guardians trying to communicate with them. Conspiracy theorists also point to the number 11’s involvement in historical events.
“With ‘Saw’ and ‘Repo,’ my career has been about finding new ways to freak people out; that’s what I want to do with this,” Bousman said in an earlier interview. ‘We want to take this phenomenon and give it horrific purpose.”
