As the insipid AVP helped to prove, a film featuring xenomorphs needs to be rated R! There needs to be violence (or, once again in the case of AVP, something resembling a good story). If this latest still is any indication of what’s to come, it looks as if Alien: Covenant is gonna be anything but gun-shy!
Via the official Alien Twitter page, the new image comes with a mysterious numerical message… 224612072104. At this point we have no idea what the numbers signify. The last one was thought to be a countdown to the trailer, but given that it was 185612082104, it appears to be a count up to something.
The cast includes Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Benjamin Rigby, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Guy Pearce, James Franco, and Callie Hernandez.
Specific plot details for the new film are being closely guarded; but it is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is, in fact, a dark, dangerous world, the only inhabitant of which is David (Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
