Robert EnglundTalk about your “holy shit!” kind of news. In some of the best guest star casting news we’ve ever heard, it appears that Robert Englund is going to be appearing in this season of “Supernatural” — on December 10th to be exact!

According to EW’s The Ausiello Files, here’s the skinny: Filmdom’s original Freddy Krueger has closed a deal to appear in the Dec. 10 episode of “Supernatural”. Englund — who is set to terrorize Team Bartowski on next Monday’s Halloween-themed “Chuck” — will play a character known simply as Dr. Robert.

“Hunters often find themselves in situations where they need medical attention but can’t exactly stroll into an ER,” explains exec producer Sera Gamble. “Robert plays an unlicensed doc who makes his living stitching folks up on the down low. One of our guys goes to him with a life-or-death problem.”

Some may not know that “Doctor Robert” is also the title of a Beatles song referring to John Lennon; wonder if we’ll hear it in the ep.

“Live Free or Twi-Hard” Synopsis:
After a group of young girls go missing, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) realize that vampires have taken up residence in the small town. After a fight with two of the blood-suckers, Dean is bitten and turns into a vampire. Samuel (guest star Mitch Pileggi) tells Dean he can change him back, but he’d have to get the blood of the vampire who turned him. Dean infiltrates the nest and runs into the Alpha. Jan Eliasburg directed the episode written by Brett Matthews.
