A couple of weeks ago we reported that the must-see UK zombie series “Dead Set” would be airing on five consecutive nights on IFC from Monday, October 25th through Friday, October 29th, 2010, but now word has come that you can take that dose of mayhem straight no chaser!

From the Press Release
Flesh-eating zombies have taken over Britain and are multiplying as quickly as they kill. Survivors must rapidly find ways to endure in a world that offers little refuge. Cocooned in the safety of their “Big Brother” house, fame-seeking contestants of this hit reality TV game show are safe and blissfully unaware – until “eviction night,” when all hell breaks loose.

Written and executive produced by acclaimed writer and media critic Charlie Brooker (The Guardian), DEAD SET is a pitch-black 5-part zombie-horror-comedy set in Britain’s “Big Brother” house. “Dead Set” (review here) is partially filmed at the real UK “Big Brother” set and features the show’s host, Divina McCall, in front of an actual eviction night audience – with cameos by former contestants.

A must-see for horror fans, reality TV junkies, or anyone horrified by reality TV, DEAD SET stars Jaime Winstone (Boogie Woogie), Andy Nyman (Death at a Funeral) and Riz Ahmed (Rage) and makes its U.S. television premiere on IFC on Monday, October 25 through Friday, October 29, 2010, airing at 12:00 midnight ET/PT over five consecutive nights with a special marathon event featuring all five parts back-to-back on Halloween day beginning at 8pm ET/PT.

“The ‘Big Brother’ house seemed fitting for a TV zombie epic set in the 21st century,” says Brooker. “DEAD SET is an unashamedly populist horror-thriller with darkly comic undertones. Think ’24’ with zombies. And housemates. And gore.”

They’re Coming to Get You, Barbara.

From its well-received overseas premiere last year, the master of horror, Stephen King, called DEAD SET, “One of the ten best things I saw on TV.” Produced by Zeppotron, an Endemol company (producers of “Big Brother”), the series received a 2009 BAFTA Award nomination for Best Drama Serial. Aficionados of the undead will have fun spotting inside jokes and classic horror movie quotes in DEAD SET.

Who will survive, and what will be left of them?

Britain has been hit by an epic problem. The dead are returning to life and attacking the living. The people they kill get up and kill. And it’s spreading like wildfire. Within two days, 80% of the population is dead. No one knows how this problem started or how widespread it’s become, because there are no news channels anymore.

The entire social structure has collapsed in the space of 48 hours. Tiny groups of survivors are holed up across the country, unaware of each other, besieged inside abandoned houses, abandoned hospitals – abandoned anything. Surrounded by growing hordes of the living dead – mindless eating machines powered by raw instinct – they fight to survive, around the clock.

Few people remain who aren’t worried about this living nightmare: the remaining contestants in the reality TV game show, “Big Brother”. Cocooned in the safety of the Big Brother house, they’re blissfully unaware of the horrific events unfolding in the outside world. until eviction night when the walking dead descend on the studio.

In a cruel reflection of the game show they were cast in, one by one they fall victim – devoured by the hungry, unthinking masses outside. Staying alive requires teamwork – a tricky job when you’re a group specifically selected by TV producers to not get along and drive each other crazy!
