Alex Lawther and Martin Freeman Tell Ghost Stories

Some casting news is finally here for the new film Ghost Stories that is based upon the UK stage play of the same name. THR reports that British actor Alex Lawther (pictured), who broke out in The Imitation Game and recently starred in one of “Black Mirror’s” darkest episodes, has joined Martin Freeman in the spooky flick.

Shooting on Ghost Stories has now begun, with Jeremy Dyson (The League of Gentlemen) directing. Andy Nynam, who starred in the original theater production (which he co-wrote with Dyson), leads the cast, with Paul Whitehouse also starring.

The film is produced for Warp Films by Claire Jones (Sightseers, Kill List) and Robin Gutch (’71, Kill List) and is backed by Catalyst Global Media and Screen Yorkshire.

Altitude Film Sales is handling worldwide sales. Lionsgate will distribute the film in the U.K.
