The Japanese sure love Godzilla. Well, so do all of us, but being his country of origin, they’ll always have an unbreakable bond with the radioactive lizard. And they proved just how deep the bond goes with their latest loving homage.

To celebrate its annual Dōntokagashi Harvest Festival, the town of Chikuzen erected a seven meter-tall Godzilla statue made of straw and bamboo, as reported by Anime News Network. His tale brings the diagonal length to ten meters. Built over a period of four weeks by over 150 volunteers, it also contains LED lights which give it a creepy glow at night.

All good things have to come to an end however, so it will only remain on display until early December. Straw and bamboo are both naturally biodegradable material, so it probably wouldn’t last long anyway.
