The Vampire Diaries Central – Everything You Need to Know to Prep for the Season 2 Premiere

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 1 ended with such a bang that we were left talking about it for days. Now, after several long months of waiting, Season 2 returns on Thursday, September 9th, on the CW Network; and we have everything you need to gear up for the premiere right here.
Seriously, we know it may look questionable to some, but if you are not watching “The Vampire Diaries”, you are missing out on some good storytelling and twists.
“The Vampire Diaries” stars Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert, Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore, Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore, Steven R. McQueen as Jeremy Gilbert and Michael Trevino as Tyler Lockwood.
Dark, brooding, pulsing with bloodlust and transcendent with romance, “The Vampire Diaries” – which started as a series of must-read novels by L.J. Smith – has become a must-watch television hit with unforgettable characters, living and undead. They are vampire brothers Stefan and Damon, one good and one evil; Elena, a double for the beauty both brothers loved some 150 years earlier; plus Elena’ brother Jeremy, witch-in-training Bonnie, good guy Matt, mysterious Tyler, and more denizens of Mystic Falls, VA. All are caught up in a spellbinding web of secrets, passion, and terror.
Synopsis for Season 2 Premiere Episode “The Return”:
Picking up on the same night as last season’s finale, Elena (Nina Dobrev) arrives home to a nightmare as she discovers Uncle John’s and Jeremy’s fates. At the hospital Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) is comforted by Matt (Zach Roering), Bonnie (Katerina Graham), and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) while she waits to hear if Caroline (Candice Accola) will survive the car accident. After a confusing conversation with Elena about the night’s events, Damon is the first to realize that Katherine (also played by Dobrev) has returned. Katherine’s arrival sends Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon on a path to find out what she wants, why she’s back, and how much of a threat she is to the people they love. Meanwhile, still reeling from his father’s death, Tyler (Michael Trevino) is surprised when his charming and mysterious uncle, Mason Lockwood (guest star Taylor Kinney, “Trauma”), arrives to console the family. Sara Canning also stars. J. Miller Tobin directed the episode written by Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec.
