The Dark Knight Becomes a Creature of the Night With Mondo’s Vampire Batman Statue

default-featured-image

The Dark Knight becomes a creature of the night thanks to Mondo’s new vampire Batman statue, which was inspired by Francesco Francavilla’s famous cover (see it at the bottom of the page) for the non-canon Elseworlds story Red Rain. From what I can gather, vampires do not seem to exist in the main DC universe because I guess they’d be too unrealistic in a setting filled with green Martians and mythological gods.

It depicts the Caped Crusader as a hideous fanged beast, complete with a tombstone bearing the name of the man he once was and a coffin full of skulls. If you have fond memories of a colorful Batman saving the day, then I’m sorry if this leaves you scarred for life.

Batman Red Rain Statue
By Francesco Francavilla – $250.00

Batman Red Rain is a DC Comics Elseworlds tale, in which the Dark Knight battles the infamous Dracula, ultimately becoming a vampire himself in the process. Inspired by Francesco Francavilla’s poster of the same name, the Batman: Red Rain statue depicts Batman as a vampire stalking the night and hunting his own kind, while attempting to stave off his own hunger for blood.

Incorporating elements from the poster, such as a tombstone from Batman’s past and slain vampire skulls, this statue brings the dark beauty of the two-dimensional art into the horrific third dimension! Ships approx. 2nd quarter of 2017.
