Speaking as someone who likes animals way more than I do people, this latest news has me elated because at the very least it means that the humans will be getting their just due in the new Jurassic World movie.

El Mundo caught up with director of the last film and co-writer of the next, Colin Trevorrow, for an update on the sequel which is to be directed by J.A. Bayona.

The dinosaurs will be a parable of the treatment animals receive today: the abuse, medical experimentation, pets, having wild animals in zoos like prisons, the use the military has made of them, animals as weapons,” Trevorrow explained. “The second part will be a very different movie that will explore new paths,” he said. “For that reason, it was clear that it needed to be Bayona who would direct it, in order to have it grow and evolve with his very personal vision.

Jurassic World 2 opens in theaters on June 22, 2018.
