The Goetz Brothers and Jeffrey Reddick’s Superstition Gets a Longer Title; Filming Now

We told you back in August that director brothers Kevin Goetz and Mike Goetz (Scenic Route, Martyrs) have signed on to direct a new film written by Jeff Reddick (Final Destination, Dead Awake) for Lionsgate. The flick was entitled simply Superstition but now that it’s filming in Georgia, its moniker has grown to be Superstition: Final Chance.
The film takes place on a college campus, skewing the film younger just as Reddickâs Final Destination films did. When two unrelated deaths happen on campus, a betting pool is set up to figure out who will die next because deaths always come in threes (similar to that celebrity death myth). However, when a student wins the pool, murderous consequences merge.
Various production companies, including CodeBlack Films, Global Renaissance Group Entertainment, and Ingenious Media Services Limited, are developing the project. Christina Sibul is overseeing for CodeBlack.
Reddick is set to executive produce, with Arthur Wylie, Carol Ann Shine, Dale Godboldo, and Stephanie Denton producing.
Though it has absolutely nothing in common with the 1982 flick Superstition, we still can’t resist posting this sliver of classic 80s artwork!
