In our favorite headline of the day, news has come via THR that The Invitation and Jennifer’s Body director Karyn Kusama is coming back with a new horror film for Fox.

Kusama and Invitation writers Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi will be bringing us the horror movie Breed. Kusama is set to helm the pic with Hay and Manfredi writing the screenplay and serving as producers alongside Scott Frank. Frank is producing under his new production deal with the studio.

The team will stay in the realm of adult horror with this latest project. The film is an adaptation of Chase Novak’s (pen name Scott Spencer) novel of the same name and follows a wealthy New York couple who turn to a controversial Eastern European fertility clinic to conceive when all conventional methods fail. Ten years later, the nightmarish side effects of the procedure begin to manifest for — and in — the couple and their twin children.

Breed was the first piece of material I acquired and was a complete no-brainer — falling right into the sweet spot of the work that I’m trying to do in my partnership with Fox,” Frank said Monday in a statement. “The fact that I also get to collaborate with the talented likes of Phil, Matt, and Karyn only makes an already exciting project even sweeter.

More as it comes.
