The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Gets a Release Date

With The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (reviews here) continuing to rack up impressive box office numbers (close to $290 million over five weeks in the US plus over $356 million foreign), Summit Entertainment wants to make sure you don’t forget about its upcoming two-part follow-up, Breaking Dawn, and today announced a release date for Part 2 of the Saga‘s conclusion.

From the two-line press release: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will open in theatres on November 16, 2012. Directed by Bill Condon, the astonishing conclusion to the series illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

As reminder, Part 1 (which will be filmed simultaneously with Part 2 in both Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Vancouver, British Columbia, over the next year starting this fall) is slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011.

Academy Award winner Bill Condon will direct both films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner along with Billy Burke as Charlie Swan as well as returning members of the Cullen Family including Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice, and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.

The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt, and Stephenie Meyer producing.
