More Walking Dead Goodness: Robert Kirkman Tours the Set, Motion Comic, and a Contest!
Just in case you aren’t pumped up enough for the October debut of AMC’s “The Walking Dead”, the network has just released a new video of source material creator Robert Kirkman touring the set; the “Walking Dead” motion comic; and a contest to win a trip to the location of shooting for Season 2 of “The Walking Dead”.
Working backwards, here’s the skinny on the contest:
Ever dreamed of being a zombie? Now’s your chance, with AMC’s The Walking Dead Sweepstakes. Visit the site and fill out the online form, and you’ll be entered in a random drawing to win a four-day, three-night trip to the location of The Walking Dead’s Season 2 production, plus the opportunity to become one of the undead in a Season 2 episode of The Walking Dead. (Exact specifics of the walk-on role will be determined at the producer’s sole discretion.)
The sweepstakes will run from Tuesday, July 20, through Sunday, August 15. Entrants may enter the sweepstakes one time only throughout the entire sweepstakes period. Click here or on the below image for all the details.

What’s the difference between writing a comic and producing a multi-million dollar television series? According to The Walking Dead scribe Robert Kirkman, walkie talkies (among other things). Follow Kirkman through the set of a devastated gas station as he describes watching Andrew Lincoln portray Rick Grimes (“pretty handsome guy”), the intricacies of garbage placement, and getting in the way of zombies in this new behind-the-scenes video.

If you’ll be at San Diego Comic-Con this week, be sure to stop by their booth (#3721), which recreates a scene from the pilot episode, and tell them how much you’re looking forward to the series premiere. Attendees can either watch zombie footage playing on nearby televisions or use touch-screen monitors to “zombify” themselves. Also at the booth, staff will be distributing free swag like postcards, buttons and other goodies.
On Friday, July 23 from 4:00 to 4:45 PM, Frank Darabont will be at the booth to sign posters.
