The Vampire Diaries: New Trilogy of Novels on the Way: TV Stars Signing at Comic-Con
There are quite a few prolific writers in the horror genre … and then there’s The Vampire Diaries scribe L.J. Smith, who recently finished the third chapter of her The Vampire Diaries: The Return trilogy, entitled Midnight, and has also agreed to pen a new trilogy, for which she’s already finished the first book, Phantom.
Here’s how Smith describes it in her Ye Olde Blog:
I have been finished with Midnight, the final book in the last Vampire Diaries trilogy, [for] about a month and am waiting (you can imagine how eagerly or maybe–if you’re not an author–you can’t) for the edits. I’ve also signed on for a new trilogy and finished the first book in it, Phantom. So there is more Vampire Diaries in store for readers of those books.
I’ve already bought a fantastic brand new Tiffany and Co. (the real Tiffany’s) gold locket and chain. Now I just have to make up a scene in which Stefan gives Elena the locket (crucial for the new trilogy coming up after Midnight), and we’ll see if we really can cause my computer to implode.
No other details on the upcoming trio of novels are available, but we do know that The Return: Midnight is due out from HarperTeen on March 15, 2011. You can pre-order your copy from the EvilShop below.
As for “The Vampire Diaries” TV series based on Smith’s popular franchise, it’s looking to have a big presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Along with the show’s panel presentation on Saturday, July 24th, in Ballroom 20 (see the details below), the following members of the cast and crew will be in Warner Brothers’ booth (#4545) just before the panel starts.
