Toho Animates Godzilla

The purveyor of all that is Godzilla, August Ragone, just pointed out that after recently registering the domain Godzilla-Anime.com, Toho has just announced its upcoming animated feature, simply titled Godzilla. Curious that they didn’t opt for Gojira, but hey, we ain’t complaining!
Toho Animation is preparing this animated feature for theatrical release sometime next year via Polygon Pictures (Star Wars: The Clone Wars). It will be co-directed by Kobun Shizuno (Detective Conan, Knights of Sidonia) and CG director Hiroyuki Seshita (the Final Fantasy movie franchise, Ajin: Demi-Human). Gen Urobuchi (Psycho-Pass, Gargantia) will write from his own concept.
No story details are available at press time, but the teaser image below seems to showcase what could be a futuristic setting. Stay tuned.
