FilmRise Acquires Seoul Station; Animated Train to Busan Prequel

Live-action flick Train to Busan has been dubbed South Korea’s answer to World War Z, and it will be paired with an animated prequel from the same director. Yeon Sang-ho’s Seoul Station takes place before Train to Busan, and we’ve got some distribution news for you today. So read on!
Per Variety, FilmRise has acquired the North American rights to the dark Korean animated film. Seoul Station played as the closing film of last month’s Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and has its theatrical debut in Korea next week, on August 18.
In the prequel, several groups of people try to survive a zombie pandemic that unleashes itself in downtown Seoul.
Seoul Station is presented by Next Entertainment World along with Finecut and Myung Films. Production is by Dadashow.
