More from The Walking Dead Creator Robert Kirkman on AMC’s Series Adaptation
I don’t think there’s a single other project we’re looking forward to more around the Dread Central offices than Frank Darabont’s adaptation of the Robert Kirkman zombie epic The Walking Dead. Casting news has been brilliant, the effects that we’ve seen so far have been top shelf, and everything seems to be coming together nicely.
With production in full swing down in Atlanta, Georgia, the man himself, Robert Kirkman, took some time to talk with AMC regarding what fans can expect when the dead rise this October. Check out some highlights below, and click the link for the full interview.
“Everyone is really trying to do good by the comic, and there are scenes that are straight out of it. I think that fans are just going to be thrilled. But at the same time, [Frank Darabont] is vastly improving the material. And there are things here and there that along the way I should have caught, but didn’t. There’s some amazing stuff he added for Morgan’s character in the Pilot episode that’s just not in the comic. It was back story, but he handles it in a way that just really brings it to the forefront. It’s like, Morgan, that guy is an awesome character!”
“The Walking Dead” is based on Robert Kirkman’s popular comic series. It chronicles the months and years following a zombie apocalypse. Frank Darabont is the project’s writer, director of the pilot, and exec producer with Anne Hurd and David Alpert also exec producing. KNB will be handling the effects, and Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Chandler Riggs, Steven Yeun, Michael Rooker, Emma Bell, Linds Edwards, IronE Singleton, and Jim Coleman are all set to star.
