#SDCC16: The Strain Gets a Must-Watch Official Rap Video

The third season of FX’s vampire series “The Strain” begins on Sunday, August 28th, but what we’ve got for you tonight may be even better than that. Because the show, well, it has just spawned its very own rap song and music video, titled “Vamps Boom,” and we’re pretty sure it’s this summer’s most infectious new beat.

“Vamps Boom,” which you can groove to below, features song lyrics written by “The Strain” stars Kevin Durand and Miguel Gomez. David Bradley’s rap was written by Regina Corrado. The video for the song was directed by J. Miles Dale and produced by Cory Bird and Liz Phang.

“The Strain” Episode 3.01 – “New York Strong” (Airs August 28, 10 PM ET/PT)
The strigoi are evolving, becoming faster. Smarter. Eph (Corey Stoll) struggles to improve his failing bioweapon while trying to work through the emotional fallout of the abduction of his son, Zack (Max Charles). As Setrakian (David Bradley) and Quinlan (Rupert Penry-Jones) attempt to crack the Lumen’s deepest-held secrets, Fet (Kevin Durand) helps a Navy SEAL team in a deadly mission: search for the Master through the underground tunnels of New York. “The Strain” Episode 3.02 – “Bad White” (Airs September 4, 10 PM ET/PT)
The Master’s offer to return Zack plagues Eph as he considers taking the deal. Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) reunites with an old group of friends but begins to question if her safety is better with them or with Fet, Eph, and Setrakian. Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) strives for answers to Setrakian’s secret strigoi blood treatments and discovers he may have a way to acquire it. Written by David Weddle & Bradley Thompson; directed by J. Miles Dale.

“The Strain” Episode 3.03 – “First Born” (Airs September 11, 10 PM ET/PT)
The Occido Lumen is gone. Stolen. Setrakian and Fet race to recover it. Gus (Miguel Gomez) and Angel (Joaquín Cosio) try to hide a secret houseguest while avoiding a police sweep, and Quinlan’s thirst for vengeance is revealed. Written by Chuck Hogan; directed by Ken Girotti.
