First Official Zombie Images: Frank Darabont’s The Walking Dead
Thus far we have approved of the casting for Frank Darabont’s small screen adaptation of the Robert Kirkman zombie epic The Walking Dead, but the living aren’t the only thing Darabont and company are getting right as today AMC provided excited hungry fans with their first look at the show’s shamblers!
The Walking Dead is based on Robert Kirkman’s popular comic series. It chronicles the months and years following a zombie apocalypse. Frank Darabont is the project’s writer, director, and exec producer with Gale Anne Hurd and David Alpert also exec producing. KNB will be handling the effects, and AMC has already ordered six episodes.
Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, and Andrew Lincoln are all set to star.

Production has started on AMC’s newest original series, and who better to tell you about it than The Walking Dead writer, director, and executive producer Frank Darabont and executive producer Gale Anne Hurd. In this exclusive video Darabont and Hurd discuss the series; Darabont talks about his inspiration for doing a show about zombies, the nature of the story, and his goal to “do for zombies what Mad Men has done for advertising.”
