With his film career on the back burner in the wake of 2010’s The Ward, horror master John Carpenter has had time to focus on his music career, recently releasing two CDs and performing live shows across the world that have been nothing short of a delight for fans of his work. Up next, he returns to Haddonfield.

As we learned just a couple months back, John Carpenter will be executive producing the next installment in the Halloween franchise, which will be coming our way courtesy of Miramax and Blumhouse Productions. At the moment, we know very little about the project, but it has been teased that Carpenter may provide the score.

Speaking with Screen Daily, Carpenter continued to tease.

Maybe I’ll do the music,” he told the site.

Carpenter went on to say that he definitely will not be directing Myers’ return. “I had to stop,” he said of his filmmaking career. “I had no life. It is so stressful.”
