At this point, The Conjuring isn’t just a film but rather a full-on franchise universe, and to date we’ve seen two installments in the series plus a spinoff. Another spinoff, titled The Nun, is soon headed our way, and we can be pretty sure that The Conjuring 3 won’t be too far behind. But what can we expect from it?

Speaking with IGN, James Wan recently teased the future of the series.

They do have a lot of stories so I think, organically, if we’re lucky enough to tell future chapters, there’s a lot of stuff we could be pulling from,” Wan told the site, of course speaking about franchise main characters Ed and Lorraine Warren. “I do have something specific, but I’m not going to say it.”

But I will say this,” Wan added. “Conjuring 1 and 2 are both set in the ’70s; I think Conjuring 3 has got to be set in the ’80s.”
