Suicide Squad may not be the only franchise with Scott Eastwood’s name attached to it. When Pacific Rim 2 hits theaters in 2018, there’s a chance we could see the Diablo star right alongside The Force Awakens’ John Boyega.
According to Deadline, Eastwood is being courted for a so-called “key role” in the upcoming sequel from veteran producer/television director Steven S. DeKnight (“Angel,” “Smallville,” “Daredevil”), who is making his feature-length debut with the follow-up. What kind of role? Nobody seems to know at the moment. Of course, Scott’s involvement in the flick isn’t set in stone just yet, so there’s a chance it could all fall apart before the film starts shooting later this year.
If you missed Guillermo del Toro’s extremely entertaining Pacific Rim, which pits giant monsters against enormous human-controlled robots, then it’s definitely a problem you should address in the very near future. Granted, the movie isn’t without its fair share of issues, but it’s definitely worth a look if you fancy robots, monsters, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Hunnam, and Idris Elba. It didn’t get a fair shake at the domestic box office back in 2013, but internationally it made quite a chunk of change.
Pacific Rim 2 is presently scheduled to hit theaters on February 23, 2018.
