Home Video Art Found In the Deep
Wouldn’t it be awesome if The Shallows leads to more shark movies taking over the big screen? We’d love that a whole hell of a lot. On a related note, another new shark movie is indeed headed our way, though this one is swimming directly onto home video. It’s titled In the Deep (formerly 47 Meters Down), and we’ve got the new artwork for ya today!
With 95% of the film shot underwater at the Dominican Republic’s Pinewood Studios, it should be something to see! Look for it on August 2nd.
Directed by Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of The Door), the underwater thriller stars Mandy Moore (“This Is Us,” A Walk To Remember), Claire Holt (“The Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals”), Yani Gellman (“Pretty Little Liars,” “The Young and The Restless”), and Matthew Modine (Full Metal Jacket, The Dark Knight Rises).
Synopsis:
In The Deep dives into a world of two sisters (Moore and Holt) who become trapped at the bottom of the ocean when a diving expedition to observe sharks goes horribly wrong. When the cable attaching their observation cage to the boat breaks and the cage sinks to the bottom of the ocean, the sisters must figure out a way to get back to safety battling injuries, lack of oxygen, and, worst of all, bloodthirsty Great White sharks.
