Them! Homage Movie Dead Ant Emerging from the Anthill

When it comes to giant ant movies, you really can’t get much better than 1954’s Them! Often credited as helping to kick-start the nuclear monster movie craze, it was nominated for an Oscar for Best Effects and continues to this day to have a strong cult following.
So much so, in fact, that a group of filmmakers are even making a respectful homage called Dead Ant. THR got an exclusive casting scoop, so thanks to them we know that Sean Astin, Tom Arnold, Jake Busey, and Rhys Coiro will star in the story of a band stranded in the desert being menaced by oversized ants. Astin should have no problems though. I mean, he single-handedly took on the Great Spider Shelob, so ants should be a pushover.
