Eli Roth is on a huge roll at the moment, as it was just announced earlier this week that he’ll be directing Bruce Willis in a remake of Death Wish. As if that wasn’t exciting enough for Roth fans, we’re just now learning that he and Jim Carrey are adapting the Steve Niles-penned graphic novel Aleister Arcane. Say what?! Read on!

THR reports that Roth will direct Carrey in the adaptation of Niles’ comic series, published by IDW back in 2004. Jon Croker (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death) will pen the script.

The comics told the story of a Los Angeles weatherman who returns to his hometown to host a midnight horror show.

Under the guise of a mad scientist named Aleister Arcane, Green performed little skits until the local sponsors balked at the gore. An incident with two kids leads to him to be put on trial, breaking his spirit and into an early grave. Not long after, grisly activities begin to occur and only the kids have the power to thwart the curse he has laid upon their town

Amblin Entertainment has picked up the package as a pitch, with David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films producing along with Michael Aguilar. In addition to starring, Carrey will executive produce the project.
