Update: Laurie Holden and Steven Yeun Join The Walking Dead
More casting news for what is probably horror fans’ most anticipated new TV show! Frank Darabont’s small screen adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s zombie epic “The Walking Dead” continues its pitch perfect casting!
According to The Hollywood Reporter “Shield” star Laurie Holden has signed on for zombie slaying duty to play Andrea, a key member of the survivor group who has a proficiency with a sniper rifle and an undying love for a man twice her age. She joins the previously announced Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sarah Wayne Callies, and Andrew Lincoln.
The Walking Dead is based on Robert Kirkman’s popular comic series. It chronicles the months and years following a zombie apocalypse. Frank Darabont is the project’s writer, director, and exec producer with Anne Hurd and David Alpert also exec producing. KNB will be handling the effects, and AMC has already ordered six episodes.
