Exclusive: Godsmack’s The Oracle Sizzle Reel
American metal band Godsmack has a new album entitled The Oracle scheduled for release on May 4th, and they’ve teamed up with Dread Central to premiere an exclusive look at it.
The Oracle is the first Godsmack album to be produced by Dave Fortman. His resume includes production for Evanescence, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Simple Plan, Otep, Superjoint Ritual, and more. The new album features the chart topping single “Cryin’ Like A Bitch” along with the recently released “What If” and “Love Hate Sex Pain”. The Oracle is Godsmack’s first studio album in four years and definitely one that their fans do not want to miss.
The new album revels in Godsmack’s scorching underpinnings, served up via frontman Sully Erna’s monster-vocals. As drummer Shannon Larkin told Away-Team, “One of the cool things about this album is that we’re recording it one track at a time. What I mean by that is, instead of me just laying down the drum tracks and then the band coming back in and laying down all the guitar, vocals, bass and stuff…we actually do one tune and then complete it before we move on to recording the next one. It’s so cool because we get to hear what everything is going to sound like almost immediately, and I’m not just laying down my drum tracks and then sitting around for the rest of the time waiting for it all to be done before I get to hear anything finished. It makes it way more exciting to record like this.”
Check out the “sizzle reel” the band put together below, and then head over to the Godsmack Shop at BravadoUSA.com to pre-order The Oracle Box Set, which includes The Oracle Deluxe CD/DVD, Godsmack bandana, patch, belt buckle, dogtags, and black artwork t-shirt.
