Studio LD Entertainment is actively developing a re-imagining of the 1990 supernatural thriller Jacob’s Ladder for a brand new generation of viewers, and David M. Rosenthal will sit in the director’s chair. The project is an interesting one, to say the least, and on tap today is the latest casting news.
Per Deadline, “Ray Donovan” star Guy Burnet has joined the cast. He will star as Hoffman, a pharmacist at the Veteran’s Administration described as “smart, but chaotic” who supplies Jacob with prescriptions.
The cast also includes Michael Ealy (The Perfect Guy), Nicole Beharie (“Sleepy Hollow”) and Jesse Williams (The Cabin in the Woods).
Scripted by Jeff Buhler and Sarah Thorp, the new version will be a “modern-day paranoid action thriller about two brothers.”
Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, and Jennifer Monroe at LD Entertainment will produce alongside Alison Rosenzweig and Michael Gaeta of Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films (Fright Night). Will Packer will produce via his Will Packer Productions banner, and WPP’s James F. Lopez will be executive producer.
Principal photography is set to begin soon.
