Hammer Films and Dark Horse Comics Forming a Partnership
While lately it seems that just about every other film in pre-production is based on a graphic novel, now comes word of a partnership between Hammer Films and Dark Horse Comics that will give us the reverse: a series of original graphic novels and comic books, the first of which is based on an upcoming Hammer film.
The companies said their first collaboration would be inspired by Hammer’s upcoming thriller ‘Let Me In’, a remake of Swedish film ‘Let the Right One In’ written and directed by Matt Reeves (‘Cloverfield’).
The actual storyline of the comic is unknown, but writer Marc Andreyko’s novel is being timed to coincide with Let Me In‘s October 1st release by Overture Films.
‘Let Me In’ [the film] centers on an alienated 12-year-old boy, portrayed by Kodi Smit-McPhee, who’s bullied by his classmates and neglected by his divorcing parents. Chloe Moretz portrays his neighbor and only friend.
