RIP: Peter Steele
When it came to living life on the edge, no one lived it to the fullest quite like Type O Negative‘s bassist/singer Peter Steele. It’s with a heavy heart we announce that the music world has lost one of its most talented players.
Mistress Juliya of Fuse TV broke the news just a little while ago on her Twitter Account stating, “Peter Steele passed today. I loved my friend…our idol…my heart is with his band and family…”, adding later that “he passed of heart failure”. Peter Steele was born Petrus T. Ratajczyk on January 4th, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York. He was just 48 at the time of his passing. Gone way too soon.
Before Type O Negative Steele played for the metal group Fallout and the thrash band Carnivore. His musical contributions will no doubt be long remembered. We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to offer Steele’s friends, family, fans, and constituents our deepest condolences.
Rest in peace, Peter. Thanks for the gifts that you left behind.
