Rest in Peace: Joe Fleishaker

While the name may not jump out at you at first, if you were at all a fan of Troma and their wondrous brand of horror, then you are more than well acquainted with Joe Fleishaker. It’s with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to this incredibly warm soul.
Fleishaker starred in MANY Troma classics including The Toxic Avenger franchise, Poultrygeist, Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D., Terror Firmer, and Tromeo and Juliet. Throughout his career Joe could be seen working with and helping to develop talented individuals that have gone on to have some incredible careers.
“Joe was a great guy – a good friend and a true Troma fan,” says actor Tiffany Shepis. “His love of acting and all things Troma was unmatched. Joe never had a bad thing to say about anybody and was the best at self-depreciating silly humor. It’s a sad day in Tromaville.”
On the convention circuit Fleishaker could always be found helping to man the Troma booth and greet fans with open arms and a huge smile. He will be sincerely missed.
