More Episodes of The X-Files Are Coming; How Long Will the Wait Be?

Beloved ’90s icons Fox Mulder and Dana Scully returned to the small screen earlier this year for six brand spankin’ new episodes of “The X-Files,” and the revival more or less ended on the promise that more episodes were coming soon. Indeed they are, but how long do we have to wait? Let’s find out!
As reported by Deadline, Fox TV Group chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman were on hand at the network’s recent Upfront press call, and when asked about the future of “The X-Files,” they seemed very optimistic that more episodes are on the way – it’s all a matter of the proper stars aligning.
“We have had conversations with [creator] Chris Carter and [stars] David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson,” Walden said. “I believe everyone is on board to do another installment of the show. Hopefully this season we will be able to get it done and [at] the same time next year [May], we will have something to announce.”
“Conversations are ongoing,” added Newman. “I can tell you that all of them would like to do more of these, and certainly the network and studio want to do more.”
The series’ return is tentatively being eyed for 2017-2018.
