Supernatural Getting Co-Showrunners for Season 12

“Supernatural” has had quite a few showrunners during its 11-season (and counting) run, and the series is about to get another… two in fact!

Per TVLine, with current showrunner Jeremy Carver set to helm a new show (“Frequency,” also on The CW), he’ll be stepping down at the end of this season; and Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb will take over. Singer has been with “Supernatural since Season 1 as an exec producer, director, and occasional writer. Dabb joined the series in Season 4, working his way up from writer/story editor to co-executive producer.

“Supernatural” was created in 2005 by Eric Kripke, who was also the showrunner through Season 5. Sera Gamble assumed the role for Seasons 6 and 7 before Carver took over.

What’s ahead as this season winds down?  Here are the synopses of the next two eps:

“Supernatural” Episode 11.22 – “We Happy Few” (5/18/16; 9:00-10:00 pm)
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) face their biggest challenge yet.  Rowena (Ruth Connell) makes her move.  John Badham directed the episode written by Robert Berens.

“Supernatural” Season Finale Episode 11.23 – “Alpha and Omega” (5/25/16; 9:00-10:00 pm)
GOD VS. AMARA – God (guest star Rob Benedict) comes to a decision about Amara (guest star Emily Swallow) that has direct repercussions for Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles).  Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Andrew Dabb.
