British film critic Mark Kermode famously said that in his experience of interviewing industry professionals, people who make nasty horror films are usually the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, with Wes Craven one of the most pleasant people he had ever spoken to, which is yet another reason why the world became a little less special with his passing last year.

Interestingly, Kermode also said that people who make family comedies are usually some of the most unpleasant people you could ever hope to meet, so who knew, eh?

In any event, the Scream director’s large Hollywood Hills house, which was also once owned by the late Steve McQueen, is now on the market for $3,295,000. I know that most of us will never have anywhere near that kind of money, but still it’s nice to know that he lived in style.
