New Friday the 13th Movie Filming This Summer?

Thanks to some quotes that came out of this past weekend’s WonderCon, we learned a little bit more about the upcoming next installment in the Friday the 13th franchise, which will likely serve to reboot the whole damn series once again. We’ve got another tiny update today, so read on for the latest.
After doing a little digging, Bloody Disgusting scored the info that writer Aaron Guzikowski’s (Prisoners) script is apparently due next month, and there’s a tentative plan to begin filming at the end of summer. Of course, the script needs to first be approved and a director hired, so everything depends on those two factors.
At this time, it’s impossible to say whether or not Paramount will stick with the January 13, 2017, date that’s currently attached to the project. All we really know, for now, is that the next Friday the 13th film will be set in a period that’s not the present – and it will most definitely NOT be a found footage film.
