Director J.J. Abrams has a new flick coming out called God Particle, and it’s already attracting a wonderful cast. According to Variety, David Oyelowo (pictured; Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Selma) and Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Concussion, Jupiter Ascending) are in negotiations to star in the sci-fi thriller.

Julius Onah is directing the film with Abrams producing through his Bad Robot banner.

Originally set up at Paramount InSurge before its shuttering, the long-in-development film takes place in the near future. It centers on a team of astronauts who make a terrifying discovery that challenges all they know about the fabric of reality, as they desperately fight for their survival.

The film will hit theaters on February 24, 2017, with production scheduled to start sometime in the second quarter of this year.
