We gave the side-scrolling zombie game Deadlight a perfect score back in 2012, so we’re pretty stoked that it’s getting an enhanced director’s cut.
Releasing on 21st June 2016, it will feature improved visuals, tweaked controls, new animations and more. So if you never played this classic game before, then be sure to pick up this superior version of a game that was already pretty much perfect.
From the Press Release:
Deep Silver and Tequila Works have announced Deadlight: Director’s Cut, an enhanced version of the 2012-released Xbox 360 and PC game, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will launch worldwide on June 21.
Deadlight: Director’s Cut offers improved graphics and “a host of new content.” Here’s the full outline:
In a world destroyed by a zombie outbreak, all hope of a cure has died, now only survival remains. Deadlight, the iconic side-scrolling horror game reanimates itself once more on next-gen consoles. Now Deadlight: Directors Cut will deliver the most compelling, complete Deadlight experience yet.
Set in an apocalyptic 1986, you play Randall Wayne, a lone survivor searching for his loved ones in the ruins of Seattle. Through tense platforming and deadly encounters with the undead, known as ‘shadows’, you’ll either fight using scarce resources, or navigate the environment to run and hide from them.
Coming to Xbox One, PC, and making its Sony debut on PlayStation 4, Deadlight: Directors Cut enhances the platforming survival horror title in every way, with superior controls, new animations, and full 1080p resolution being just the start of the improvements. Players will also experience a brand new game mode in Deadlight: Directors Cut – the ‘Survival Arena’ will be one of Randall’s toughest challenges yet.
