Although most of us probably have fond memories of the ice cream man, the whole “peddling sweets from a truck” thing is inherently creepy. Apparently the people behind the upcoming retro horror flick The Ice Cream Truck feel the same way.
The film explores a very creepy and potentially dark side of suburbia, one where people who sell ice cream to kids could potentially turn your life into a living nightmare of blood, guts, and Red, White, and Blue Turbo Rockets. Ah, memories.
From the Press Release:
Pre-production is under way on THE ICE CREAM TRUCK. Lisa Ann Walter and Adrian Martinez are set to climb on board the retro horror film. Newcomer John Redlinger will also join the cast.
The Ice Cream Truck stars Deanna Russo as a lonely suburban housewife trying to recapture her youth. Megan Freels Johnston (Rebound) will direct the film, and Johnston and Hilary Barraford will serve as producers. A love letter to horror films of the 70s, The Ice Cream Truck will serve up more layers than your average guilty pleasure.
As soon as we get more info about The Ice Cream Truck, we’ll pass it along.
