Gears of War 4 to Feature a New Trio of Protagonists

Diehard Gears of War fans may be a little disappointed to learn that series favorite Marcus Fenix isn’t returning for the fourth installment. But you may still find the new protagonist to be more than a little familiar. Why? Because he’s Marcus Fenix’s son JD, who will be voiced by Spartacus star Liam McIntyre.
As we learn from Game Informer, Gears of War 4 will be set almost 25 years after the third game, with an all new trio of heroes. In addition to JD, we also have ex-COG solider Delmont Walker, voiced by Eugene Byrd, and survivalist Kait Diaz, voiced by Laura Bailey.
So it’s great that developer The Coalition are spicing it up a bit and giving us something new rather than just giving us another story about Marcus Fenix going to town with his massive space gun. After all, the series is now ten years old, so I for one am more than relieved to see some newcomers enter the fray. In addition the news we bought you last year about how the series will focus on horror over action from now on, and it’s clear that Gears of War will always hold a special place in our hearts.
