We can be pretty sure that technology will someday destroy us all, but is it possible that the continued invasion of our privacy could someday eliminate crime entirely? That’s the concept explored in the Clive Owen-starring thriller Anon, which just scored a super talented lead actress. Read on!
Per Variety, Amanda Seyfried (Jennifer’s Body, Ted 2) will star opposite Owen in the sci-fi film. It’s being directed by Andrew Niccol (In Time), and shooting is scheduled to begin this summer.
Anon is set in a world with no privacy, ignorance or anonymity. All lives are transparent, traceable and recorded by the authorities. It’s the end of crime, it seems. However, when a detective (Owen) stumbles on a young woman (Seyfried) with no digital footprint and invisible to the police, he discovers it may not be the end of crime but the beginning.
The film is produced by Oliver Simon and Daniel Baur at K5 Film, as well as Andrew Niccol.
