Oscar-winning character actor George Kennedy has had one hell of a career, and we’re sad to report that he has passed on at the golden age of 91 in Middleton, Idaho.
The news comes from the Idaho Statesmen, which reports that according to Canyon County Coroner Vicki DeGeus-Morris, Kennedy died at 4:35 AM Sunday, February 28, 2016, due to natural causes.
Though he’ll no doubt be mainly remembered for his role in Cool Hand Luke and the Airport and Naked Gun films, Kennedy spent a lot of time dabbling within our genre, taking on roles in films like Creepshow 2, The Terror Within, Just Before Dawn, Death Ship, and many more.
We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to extend our sincerest of condolences to Kennedy’s friends, family, and constituents. Rest easy, sir. You’ve left a hell of a legacy behind. Thank you.
