We absolutely cannot wait to see Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, which will serve as both a sequel to Prometheus and a prequel to the original Alien. We were expecting the film next October, though today brings the exciting news that those nasty Xenomorphs are returning two months ahead of schedule.

Twentieth Century Fox will now unleash Alien: Covenant on August 4, 2017.

The cast includes Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez.

Alien: Covenant begins production next month in Australia.

Specific plot details for the new film are being closely guarded; but it is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is, in fact, a dark, dangerous world, the only inhabitant of which is David (Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
